I had a cheap piece of shit from Harbor Freight many years ago and it worked like a Japanese beaver.
I put it in my range bag to use on paper targets and such. When I checked this morning it was no longer there. Searched all over the fucking house and could not find it.
Spend about 3 hours going back and forth to stores like Home Depot and Walmart, buying and returning crappy staple guns. Learned a couple of things, not the least of which is Home Depot is the Walmart of hardware stores. Also learned I will need help on a good brand of staple gun. Stanley makes shit tools nowadays. If my experience was any indication, Harbor Freight has them beat.
Arrow does not make a good staple gun, or staples.

Any advice on good brand names on guns and staples?
Am looking only for hand powered, no hundred dollar Milwaukee or anything.

why not get the same thing again from harbor freight?

None in my immediate area. I bought it out west, when I still had a life and time to go to the gun range. Now I have no life, and no harbor freight to keep me company.

Will probably buy something from Amazon, if I get a good idea for brand names.

I bought this one a few months ago at Home Depot and really like how it works. I've shot several boxes of staples through it and had no problems with jams. My wife finds it too hard to squeeze for her small hands but I think its great especially for the longer staples

but you've already dismissed HD and Arrow staplers so

27 reviews with an average of 1 star.
That coincides with my experience. Shame, cuz they make so many units.

Yes, I saw that also and was rather confused because it reflects the exact opposite of my experience. Guess I got lucky and got a good one ??

I've literally fired 4 or 5 boxes of various sized staples through it on all types of materials and not 1 single jam or misfire. I did staple my thumb:eek: but that was totally user error.

My Stanley has worked fine. The only issue I have with it right now is I can't remember where I put it.
