Need advice on a big decision that will affect my high school life

I go to a public school and take all the enriched and AP courses--plenty challenging enough. If you do well and take the hard classes, you'll be well prepared college. Of course, my school is one of the better in the country; Got into my 1st choice college (RPI) and received a $14k/yr scholarship from them.

If essentially everyone hates you though, what kind of friends are you leaving behind? Unless it?s some crappy intercity high, I wouldn't be too concerned about the academics.

first of all I'd ask strangers on the internet about big decisions:roll:
I used to go to a strict public school and now I am at a public school. It is really alot easier, and it is nice that I don't have to worry about stupid punishments and working so hard. I get like no homework and I am in all honors classes. But I would rather be at the private school I used to go to.

i ask people who probably have been through more than i have.

I think you should go where you're happiest.

What are your plans for college/university?

Idealy? USC. thats if everything works out

Aim higher! And take the challenging route. It will still be manageable and you will benefit greatly. USC is not a top-notch academic school -- I hope you are not thinking about it because of its overhyped football program 😉

I doubt switching to the other school will affect your chances of getting into college, as long as you get a good gpa. The reputation of the high school you went to isn't nearly as important as the reputation of the college you went to, so colleges will pretty much just look at your gpa, not which high school you went to. As long as you can still motovate yourself to work without being forced to by the fundamental school, i don't see a problem.
