I recently bought the parts for a 1U rack server.
I'm using a standard MSI motherboard with integrated graphics (865G) and
an Intel Prescott 2.8ghz (the slowest I could find). I also have a special
CPU fan adjusted for the 1U height.
When I have the top of the 1U case taken off, it works perfectly.
But when I close the case, the CPU fan gets too close to the plating,
the air flow gets disrupted and the CPU temp starts rising to above 70 degrees Celsius.
Will a new CPU fan/heatsink solve my problem? This fan/heatsink is directed upwards,
which gives it only about 3 millimeters of room between the fan and the plating.
Also, the air flow from the case fans is mostly blocked by the memory stick.
Can I solve this using tubing of some kind?
Thankful for any help.
