I was away from my desk a couple of days ago and heard my computer beep. I turned around and saw that the monitor was no longer getting a signal. "Interesting" I thought, so I rebooted, and still nothing. The drives still spin up, and it "sounds" like Windows is loading, but with no video, I can't tell for sure.

Anyhow, I'm thinking my video card went out, maybe a motherboard (?) and am looking for advice. Monitor seems okay, as I get a "Digital Powersave Mode" message when I turn it on. I can also reset the machine with the keyboard.

Here are the specs on my box, which was rock solid for 9 months
Antec Sonata II case
Chaintech VNF4-Ultra MB
AMD 3200+ CPU
1 GB Corsair Value RAM
160 GB Samsung HD
EVGA 6600GT video card (PCIe)
DVD writer
19" LG Flatron monitor

Can you see the POST screen? What power supply do you have? Did you try reseating everything?

I know it can be difficult if you don't have any laying around but I would try another video card and/or monitor.
