Simple question: Anyone ever found or use a good cross-browser menu script? I've seen several over the years but haven't used any yet because of design flaws or compatibility issues. I'm designing a sight where I think I want to use one now. If you have links to a script or can point to a sight using a good menu script, please post it here.

The beauty of Netscape dying is that you only have to work with IE. Don't waste your time, everyone uses IE anyway.

Wizkid - Thanks, that's nice. I hadn't seen that one before and it seems to work fluidly without any strange buggy issues. I'm debating between a text menu and an image map menu that I also like. Thanks for the links.

d1abolic - Yeah I know but I still design for Netscape 4+. I really hate it when you have to compensate but that's still required for me. I hate Netscape; I wish it would just die completely. I'm not a big fan of Microsoft but I do wish everyone used IE; unfortunately they only have about 75% of marketshare last time I checked and there's still a lot of Netsh!t users that I have to think about.

The latest that I've seen is that IE is over 90% worldwide now, while Netscape is less than 10%. Some even put Netscape at about 4% now. Articles below are sort of dated, but I doubt Netscape has gotten much of an increase.

Still, I design for both, but I doubt I'll be doing that much longer. Netscape is dying slowly. Most people that don't use IE are a little educated about what they are using and understand if something doesn't look quite right. Doesn't mean they'll do business with you, but they will probably understand.

I hadn't realized it was that high; that's good news as I'd like to quit compensating design features for Netscape users. In past years, before more compatibility was available and Netscape was more predominant, I was designing duplicate sites based on browser detection, which is a major PITA. The real problem I have is some of my clients still use Netscape so site design has to look good on their browser; it doesn't do you any good to have a nice site that shows up like sh!t on your client's browser. I always suggest they use IE but getting people to change is near impossible.

Yeah, I understand that. I've had the same problems before. That is probably about the only good reason to design for Netscape nowdays. And you can't send over a piece and tell them to look at it "but, use IE...it's looks like crap on Netscape." They wouldn't be too thrilled about that. But, I've tried more and more to make stuff that shows up decently in each. I try and stay away from IE specific tags and things unless I know the users are going to be using IE (ie, in house stuff).
