I figure there are several way to do what I want. So I will explain what I need first and follow up with what I had in mind.
I am setting up a webpage for my company along with someone else I work with. The person I am working with is our safety guy. The company is setting up a safety program that awards points for things we like to see on the job site. Example wearing a hard hat. Anyhow instead of maintainig his info then getting the changes to me and me posting them we would like to maintain a database online.
Supplying a form password protected to our safety guy and having access to all records to add points . Then another form for the individual to see how many points he/she has acquired, passworded also. For now that is all the info the database needs to hold. There has been talk about showing how many vacation days employee has. I am not too sure that is a good idea though.
What came to my mind first was access database. Only need 3 fields right now. Name, Password, and safety points. Then I think excel would be fine for this. Then reality sets in this is on the web. I don't think I can use either app online even using front page. This is correct isn't it? can I use a .txt file?
I would like to know what would be the best approach maybe even easiest. Any sites you can point me to for reading material? It is hard to look up info when you don't know what you want. If you know what I mean.
I don't know if it makes any difference but I am using Frontpage 2003 to maintain our page currently.
