Hello, I don't know where to look for an outdoor antenna that can get strong signals inside the attic (getting signals through the roof). Any and all suggestions would be great. I don't know how much they run, but if it is less than $100 that would be great. BTW this is for my ati hdtv wonder. Thx guys.

So you need an ariel antena (probably the wrong ganme but thats what I call it). Do you think something from walmart, bestbuy, etc. would work ?

I've tried two from bestbuy (and the one that came with the the tuner) and both have trouble getting a few channels in clear. They both have amplifiers, but they are in my room and don't have a direct shot to the towers. So, I need an antenna w/out an amplifier (no power in attic) and is strong enough to get signals throught the roof.

I used a Zenith Silver Sensor before, and it did a pretty decent job picking up HD signals from as far as 40 miles away. It's highly directional though, so you kind of have to point it to where the signal is. The good thing is it uses RG-6, so you can get a 50 or 100 foot run of that and put it just about anywhere you want. If that doesn't do the trick, then you may have to invest a bit more for an attic antenna.

Just a friendly reminder!

If you install any mast above the top of your edifice make sure the mast and supporting structure is properly earthed. Even within the confines of an attic, make sure basic dc grounding rules are followed or you may find yourself witha dead tuner front end after a visit from a spring thunderstorm.
