I will buy an Epox nForce2 with an AMD XP 2100. I've never overclocked before but I will do it with this system.

Please give me any advice you have on what I need.

I will get 512 megs of 2700 DDR ram, but what brand? Samsung? Micron?

I only want to do minor overclocking, maybe get another 100mhz out of it, will I need a megacooler fan, or just a basic big copper fan, or the bundled AMD fan?

Thanks!

Micron/Crucial makes great RAM. I'm not sure what's the best for overclocking though. You definitely want a bigger HSF than the stock one if you're going to be overclocking.

With the latest 8RDA+ BIOS update I have my AthlonXP 1600 up to 158FSB with my stick of cheap 256mb DDR PC2100 at 126mhz. Needed 2.0v on the CPU to be stable. I am only using a cheap SVC GC68 HS with a Thermaltake Smart Case fan on it for cooling, only hitting around 125F.

I am sure sure you will do much better with PC2700, but it is not required to overclock.
