Need advice for cooling my B3 Q6600

I want to reduce the temps on my Q6600. It's currently ~50C idle and ~65C full load. My setup is as follows:

B3 Q6600
AC Freezer 7 Pro (fan next to mobo heatsink, air blown up toward PSU)
Asus P5N-E SLI
Antec TP Trio 550W
Old Lian Li case (similar to this one, except with 1 80mm exhaust)

The reason the Freezer 7 is blowing upwards is because I can't mount it with air blowing toward the rear 80mm fan without trimming the plastic on the fan. Would blowing toward the 80mm exhaust fan instead of the PSU make a noticeable different in temperature? Also, would some sharp scissors or knife be enough to trim the plastic?

I also want to reseat the northbridge heatsink and install one on the southbridge. Would lens cloth and rubbing alcohol work for cleaning? Also, should I use my 1 year old AS5 (unopened, stored in a cool place), or buy some new AS5 or MX-2 paste?

Thanks!

I think the main issue here would be the lack of airflow in your case and not which direction your Freezer 7 is blowing or what thermal splooge you're using. I suggest...a new case.

With good airflow, you can run a Q6600 on a Scythe Ninja passively.

So there's really no hope with just 1 80mm exhaust and 2 80mm intake fans in the case? I don't mind getting a new case, but I don't want to waste a usable one if it could be helped.
