Need advice for AV software on my i7

I have a Standard Def Sony video Camera. Its best interface is fire wire. I had been using Pinnacle studio 8 on my old rig(fail). I would like a good set of DVD/Bluray authoring software that doesn't break the bank (Not over $100), and is fully optimized for my I7.

I currently would use just the standard def stuff to make DVDs, but eventually I will get a High Def camera and author Blurays.

Let me know what your thoughts are on the best software to do this.
