I am planning to build an HTPC system that will double up a storage server for my home network which has a macbook and a P45 based gaming system (yet to build this one, currently own an Nforce 680i with a GTX275). I need some advice in this regard

My requirements from the HTPC system is to handle four to six 1-1.5 TB HDDs in RAID 5 and integrated graphics that can do blu-ray reliably. I want it to consume as less power as possible. I was thinking of picking up an Nvidia GeForce 9300 motherboard. I have considered the Atom 330 based ION but it doesn't seem to offer much expandability for storage. Besides I was thinking if 3D becomes popular the CPU/GPU won't be good enough for pushing 3D.

Questions:

1) Do you think a GeForce 9300 is a good purchase for my needs?

2) If yes, what CPU would you recommend keeping media playback in mind? (I don't want anything more than I need just for watching movies keeping future media formats that might be more stressful in mind).

3) How much power would such a system consume with 4 GB of RAM?

4) Could you recommend any power supply to suit the needs of this system?

I have considered a P45 system but I don't like the idea of using a discrete GPU for a media playing storage serving system. In any case, I am getting a P45 to replace my aging nforce 680i.

I also considered buying a Drobo with WD TV but the fact that WD TV doesn't support HD Audio formats and that a PC would provide more expandability and customizability sold the PC to me.

Thanks for any suggestions you can make.
