Need advice for a good mobo

Currently my mobo is well shot(Gigabyte P4 Titan 874P). So I need a new one

Right now I have (parts)
~ P4 2.8 /w HT
~ two sticks of corsair XMS 3200 DDR Ram
~ BFG 6800 GT AGP

I would like a good gaming mobo perhaps one that can overclock. I'm an avid gammer but I only know a little bit about OCing and other features(quick learner though)

I need on the mobo
~ onboard Lan and sound
~ Possiblility to run ram at Duel Channel

Price range is anywhere from 100-200

I appreciate any help that you can offer.

BTW if you know a good Case too feel free to help out with that.

That board should still be under warranty. I would call gigabyte and request an rma.

Well fongo888, I went to the Gigabyte website to try to find more information about your old board, and "P4 Titan 874P" didn't match any model numbers for boards.

It's tough to recommend a specific replacement board because there are so many variations on the Pentium 4 2.8Ghz CPU. Without knowing your particular CPU's socket type and front side bus requirements, the other posters here could only guess at what might or might not work for you.

If you can supply a model number rather than "box name" for the board, or at least give a few more details about your specific processor, we can look again for some good replacement options for your board.

Oh sorry I neglected to specify that, I appreciate your searching =) any ways looking at the box its a Canterwood 800FSB with 512kb L-2 cache


This was the Mobo that i hadmobo

From the boxs this is more info about my processor
Processor type: P4 canterwood (800 FSB)

Well, if you want maximum stability, NewEgg has an actual Intel brand 875P motherboard for $80:

If you want a board that will overclock well that you can really fine tune, the ABit IC7-G MaxII Advance is a pretty nice choice at $135:

I would say that the ABit board comes with everything but the kitchen sink, but there might actually be a kitchen sink included with it too. I'm just not sure...
