I want to build a comp using some spare parts I have on hand.
Need some help finding a mobo that has 4 RAM slots in which I can use the 4 PC2100 DDR RAM sticks I have for a total of 1 GB of RAM.
I will be adding an old 1.4 GHz Thunderbird CPU, so the mobo need only run at 266MHz FSB.

Any help or advice will be appreciated.

Check out Abit's KT400A and KT333 boards here, see if you see something you like :)

Hmm, thx, looks like the KD7-E may fit the bill.
I will look at bit closer when I get a chance.

Anybody else have any specific suggestions?

So far the mobos I have seen that have 4 RAM slots only support registered RAM when using all 4 slots.

That sounds like it could be a problem for me. I don't think any of my PC2100 RAM is registered.

From the manual of my ABit KR7A (non-RAID), KT266A chipset:

Supports 4 DIMM's of unbuffered DDR SDRAM for a maximum of 3GB (64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024MB DDR SDRAM modules)
Supports 4 DIMM's of registered DDR SDRAM for a maximum of 4GB (64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024MB DDR SDRAM modules)

ie: If you used 4x1GB unbuffered you'd only get 3GB working.

[...]and the maximum memory is 3GB (Unbuffered) or 4GB (Registered) DDR SDRAM.

ie: A KT266A motherboard will work with 4 RAM modules as long as they only total 3GB RAM (so with 1GB you are fine).

Also, a KT266A board should be cheap, and will work with a T-Bird and PC2100 RAM.

My ABit KR7A is a board with 4 slots for RAM if you want to look out for one.

Hope that helps you.

(I don't know if KT333/400 chipsets will be the same)

yeah, what he said. I was origonally going to suggest the K7G but it looks like it's hard to find now. :(

If you see one in the FS/T forums, snag It. Cheap, stable and high quality.
