Need Advice - Emergency Electricity / Faulty Wiring

One of the lights in my house has randomly come on and won't switch off by the light switch in the room, it's making an electrical short-circuit type of zapping noise and flickering randomly every now and then...

Don't really know what the best thing to do is in the situation as I'm a tad concerned of a fire breaking out or something...

Any sparkies around that could shed some light or anyone that's had any similar experiences please?

my advice is not to put your fingers in the socket. and maybe also to call an electrician.

Find the fuse box and unscrew the fuse for that room/area.
