I made a purchase online during christmas time for about $140
I cancelled it due to the sell of fake handbags on the website RIGHT after I made the order.
However, the order did not get cancelled, and the item was shipped.

I rejected the delivery from fedex and told them to return it to the original shipper. Never signed anything and never received anything.
I waited until my next billing cycle and disputed the charge with my credit card company. The charge was removed.

However, I got a mail today from "CRB" stating their attempt to collect a debt. They want $160

What is this CRB place? should I even deal with them or do something about this?

it states in the letter "unless this account or any portion thereof is disputed in writing withing 30 days from receipt of this notice, we will assume this debt is valid. If you dispute this debt or any portion thereof within this 30 day time period we will furnish you with a verification of this debt or the name and address of the original creditor."

just dispute it in writing stating that it is not your debt and not a valid debt . use certified mail to prove the date you sent it.

use the key words

"Drop-Dead" Letter to Collection Agencies

(Date)

To Whom it may concern:

I have been contacted by your company about a debt you allege I owe. I am instructing you not to contact me further in connection with this debt. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a federal law, you may not contact me further once I have notified you not to do so.

Sincerely,

(Name)

(Account No.)

double obviously ... and you might include evidence that the cc disallowed the charge ... but if you do, don't include any personal info you don't trust others with having since the companyy has already shown they cannot be trusted.
