Hey Condor, yeah I'm hoping the guys at Radio Shack will be able to help me out, but the one I'll be buying from is about 25 miles from my mom's town, so I don't know if they'll know what's what for her area. The local Radio Shack in her town lost its franchise or something and is still an electronics store, but they don't carry the scanners any more. I'll check out strongsignals.net too.

Thanks,
Alexandra

The Ratshack 25 miles away probably sells into your area and will know how to do it. Good luck. Lots more sophisticated scanners out there, but Ratshack is near enough to help and theirs is good stuff.

pricey but it picks up everything 🙂
Thats a darn nice scanner. From the looks of it you dont need to program in frequencies on a computer. It seems like you can dial in freq's directly, is that right?
