I'm building a gaming system for a friend and he needs to keep the price at near $1000 but doesn't need a monitor. Can I please get any suggestions or opinions on my choices?

Go for value ram but get 2GB rather than 1GB of high performance. Modern games like the quantity more than the timings with the step from 1 to 2 GB.

But apart from that it is a pretty sound system there. I guess you've already got an optical drive as well.
