i made a boot cd with Acronis TI v.11 but the boot cd loads a vga driver
for the GUI and my new flat monitor doesnt like it, probably the refresh rate.

i cant seem to find a list of the startup parameters
for the boot creator although it mentions a couple unrelated ones.

i need to run the gui in ANSI mode like Ghost 2003.
i preferred Ghost but it seems to hang when looking at my new 64 bit xp
filesystem.

do the oder versions of True image support 64-bit and do they use a simpler graphics in the boot gui?

I think you may have a bad burn. TI creates a bootable rescue CD that loads and runs a very good Linux based GUI. It has never failed on any of the LCDs and machines I use it on. That has not changed in TI to my knowledge since at least version 6.

It can't be the refresh rate because LCDs don't have such things. A refresh rate is the rate at which an electyron beam scanes the surface of a CRT. LCD pixels "stare" - they are on or off and have a response time. And, that has no problem at all in TI as the menu choices are stationary.

All previous versions of TI use the same Linux GUI, but with a different layout.

As for 64 bit - I have no clue. I do know that TI 9, Enterprise Server Edition) supported 64 bit.)

Acronis has support forums. I'd head over there and see if it's a known issue. Also check to see if there is a new build available.

Lately, every new version of Acronis has left a lot to be desired. Lot's of problems. So many that I question whether it should have even been released.

I'm still a customer of theirs though.

I hope this is helpful advice.

does not have video related startup params.
tried a 4th time to use the boot cd , worked this time.

appears the soyo monitor has some quirks.

thanks for the help.
