Hey guys, my D=Link router just died on me and I am in need of a good router setup that is good for gaming. I play CS alot and i hate having to run a cable throughout the house everytime i want to play. On my old router, i would often lose teh connection or not even be able to find the signal. My computer is about 50' away from the router and up one floor if that helps. I am thinking about a linksys router, but i am not sure whether i need to go with an 11mbs or a 54.

Any help would be appreciated, and if you guys know of any good guiode on wireless networking post them too please.

Thanks

just go with the G because that is standard now. i really like d-link routers because they have had good range for me and very easy to set up ports and static dhcps and etc for me

I was also wondering if there were any routers that can do 2 speeds at once. My dads computer onl has an 802.11b wireless card so it can only get 11mbps, my comp has a g version so it can do up to 54. Are there any routers that are able to send two different signals?

G router is backward compatible with B, so if you have a computer with B it will connect to G router at 11mb. If you have A card, and prefer using A, than you need to buy multiradio router. You can get this multiradio router from popular brand such as linksys, dlink, netgear.
