What INTEL socket 775 mobo,
On-board Video
and CPU would you suggest?

NO gaming, no overclocking
Office computer use... Email, Internet, Fax
Some Video and image processing.

Perfectly content with current set-up but want to upgrade to Win 7
Abit is gone, and my ATI 9600 PRO vid card is not on the compatibility list.

Looking to keep the buget around $200 for mobo, CPU and RAM.

Foxconn G31AX-K - $49.99

Intel E5200 Dual Core - $67.99

Corsair 4Gb (2x2gb) DDR2 800 kit - $61.99

$179.97 total, even gives you some headroom for shipping and still stay under your budget.

Guess you gotta figure out if your gonna need to use XP mode in Win7 before you finalize your CPU purchase....Something to think about as not everything runs in Win7

Can you enlighten me more about this? Or reference a thread on the topic?
Been away from this stuff for a while and need to get caught up.

XP mode requires a CPU with VT enabled....Virtualization Technology Support

If you get Win7 pro or better I believe it allows you to run XP inside of it for more compatabilty with older programs that will not run in Win7.

Setting up a dual boot with Win7 and XP would be better tho.

Just do a google search for Win7 XP Mode and you should find alot of info on it.

Thanks

Radeon 9600 Pro will work just fine in Win7 using WDDM 1.0 drivers for Windows Vista.
