Need a way to shield center speaker.

I received my receiver, speakers and cables today 🙂.

When I sat the center speaker on my sdtv I noticed it messed with the screen. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I have a 30" sdtv/crt/normal tv that weighs 100+ lbs. and I have it sitting on a coffee table. I have the 2 fronts sitting on either side and everything just fits with no room to spare.

Is there something I can buy to shield the center speaker? Is it just simpler to get distance buy placing a block of wood under the speaker? If so, how thick should I start with?
