need a video card that will drive 3 monitors.

I don't play any games, just need a cheapo card with 3 outputs that will output to 3 monitors in extended mode.

Will this work? Most I think have 3 outputs but only 2 can be used at the same time.

GeForce 2xx cards won't cut it. They can only drive 2 displays at once. You need a GeForce 6xx card (Kepler based), or any Radeon since the 5000 series.

Also, what type of ports do you need? All DVI?

I have hdmi, dvi and vga connectors on my monitor. Any of those 3 connectors will work.

then for ATI 5xxx or higher, you'll need to hunt for a card with AT LEAST one displayport connection along with 2 (HDMI or DVI or VGA) connectors, and buy a ~$20 ACTIVE displayport->HDMI/DVI/VGA connector

obviously, stay away from VGA since it's analog and not digital

does it need to be some specific criteria? (eg low profile, single slot, above 1080p?)
