Need a video card just to play WoW

Putting a system together for my buddy and he wants a video card that will be able to play World of Warcraft.

Something under $150 if possible. Cheaper is good.

hmmm ... i dont play games on PC so I dont know what's good and what's not.
I was thinking of getting him a GeForce MX4000 which is selling for $59.99.

WoW is more intensive than you think then. My friend has a 9800 Pro 256mb and he can't max it out

It's actually alot more forgiving at lower settings than you think. I was able to play it tolerably (~30fps) at 1024x768 with all settings cranked down with a 64mb GeForce 3. I upgraded to a 128mb GeForce 4 Ti 4600 at it can now play pretty good (~40fps) with medium-max settings at same resolution. My 6800 GT runs it buttery smooth at 1280x960 with all eye candy on (60fps+). The best bang for buck at your price point would probably be either a 9600XT or a used 9700 Pro.

Unless the only applications you run are Word and Outlook, *DO NOT* get a MX4000. Heck, buy a used 4400 Ti for the same price, you'll get 3x better performance. 😀
There are far better options. Even a Radeon 9250 is better.
Still better is a $100 card. For that amount you can get a Radeon 9600 Pro or similar.
