Need a video card for my new TV..

Need some suggestions on connecting my PC to me Samsung FPT5084 50" 1080p TV. Don't want to spend to much if I don't have too. Will be playing some games but mostly movies.

Grab a 3850 or less from ATI that come with a HDMI connector. That would be an easy way to connect.

I use DVI -> HDMI on my Sharp LC52D62U
Along with Digital Out from Audigy to Yamaha Reciever

what kind of performance in gaming do u need? i have been playing with an 8600gts diamond from msi... it has a native hdmi out, and it doesn't have the lag in gaming that i see when i attached my 8800gts via dvi->hdmi adapter...

i haven't been able to get it to push sound through the hdmi cable yet, though, although i have hooked up the spdif out on the mobo (which works if used direct to the tv) to the vid card with the cable the y give u... haven't had time to sort this out since i've been traveling...

at 720p the 8600gts games well (does movies at 1080p, but not powerful enuf for gaming at that res), and it was $119 ar from newegg...

get a ATi card for the UVD if you're gonna play mostly movies.

most grafic intense game will be the likes of neverwinter nights 2
