need a vid card that can take in digital video from a laser disc player

eP?

Senior member
I need the card to take clips off laser discs. I need the input to come in digital no ananlog, and I also need to encode these babies in MPEG-2. Oh yeah, one other little thing.... I need the card to be a PCI version because this dumb a$$ dell has no AGP port. I wonder who's bright idea that was?

Thanks

That is impossible since Laser Disk is a medium that has analogue video and digital video. There is no LD player that features a digital video out. The signal is a composite signal. The best result you can get is if you buy a LD player that features component video out and get a card with component video in like the ones from pinnacle.(DV 2000 DVD).

I am an avid home theater enthusiast and I love LD, but this is a sad fact...
