I have a Mac mini and a PC I'd like to share the keyboard and mouse with. USB connections for each, and all of the USB switches I've seen on Newegg and others appear to only let you share one device for X inputs? Not impossible I've missed a product.

Not sure what my options are and am open to suggestions. I don't need to share the monitor so VGA KVM switches are overkill, but not sure if there's a way to avoid them.

the KVM might be over kill in terms of features, but it is generally cheaper to make it than have several different versions to address different customer needs.

a google turned up this sort of thing as liked by some posters in another forum.

Though IIRC there are cheap USB swapping devices (ie: sharing USB printers ect), but the ones i have looked closely at are not very smart. They break the connection to one computer to make it with the other, so one computer gives the "disconnected" sound and the receiving computer does the "new hardware connection" sound/process. I would think that would become irritating fast.

edit: a freeish option if one computer (master / server) is going to be on all the time
