I'm getting a tux for formalwear, and I have the choice of 1 button or 3, basically.
Link to the options Click to change the pic to see 3 button.
Which should I go for?
(Or for UK people, anywhere that is better for buying a tux, preferrably with returns if size is off - I need it in about 3 weeks, so not urgent, this place ships out replacements when you contact them if sizes are off)

Forget the buttons - go with velcro.

On second thought, don't listen to me. :)

one button... three is too much of a pain if you are getting up and sitting down a lot. besides you're wearing a friggin tux, how much more formal do you want to be?

I would go for 1 button as it is more classic and less likely to go out of fasion. To be honest though I'd go into Moss Bros and get them to mesure it properly for u rather then buying it off the net. They will make sure it fits properly before u leave the store. It may cost more but it will be worth it.

Oh one other thing, make sure u get a REAL bow tie! Its so much cooler and the girls will love you. Be prepared to buy a new one with each formal though mine always get stolen by some chick...

The only places in my area are all Moss Bros Hire, do they only do hiring, or do they do sales as well?

They should be able to see you one as well or at least get you mesured properly. I've heard M&S DJ's arn't all that bad either but haven't tried personally.

i know you don't button the bottom button, still unnecessary. and plus the one button is definitely classic.
a second on the real bowtie too. girls are really impressed that you can tie it. don't know why, it's pretty damn simple.

fat guys look better with one button, and tall avg weight guys look better with 3. IMHO.

WTF with this whole "classic" look?

Look, you're buying a tux, tux styles don't really change. The only major change this last century has been from 1 button to 3. Now unless you want to dress like your grandpa to achieve that "classic" look, you should go to a tailor and get a nice 3 button.
