Somehow my communications class at a major university did not transfer to the Com college I go to now so I had to add in late to the class and already have to do a "how to" speech. and it cannot be technical! :(

What can you do well that requires little props? I did one on changing a faucet washer. I installed a faucet to a cardboard box made to look like a cabinet.

how long does the speech have to be? you can get some great topics that one would think are "too simple and stupid" but can be really funny and informative

5-10 minutes Very short! I am thinking possibly on "How to buy a New car" since I used to sell new Hondas a few years back. what you all think about that topic I could power point it and use no other props.

Due tomorrow morning 8AM... yes an 8 o'clock class! yikes

"How to prepare to do a How-to speech in one day or less" <--your topic, Sir. :D

You can talk about the different resources you consulted, the people that you asked to help you practice at the last minute, etc.

A "how to" on buying a new car is a good topic. I'd run with that, esp. since you have experience with it.

How to build a fire? LOL! I'm sure that speech was a real barn-barner. A blast. Etc. Hahah!

If you want a topic that has endless interpretations "How to evaluate non-verbal communication methods, and the dangers of doing so".

How to write a paper:

Brainstorming, outlining, drafting, revising, all that BS that you're supposed to do.

(Personally I just type 2 pages, hit spell check, and print it)

A speech class that has to do a demonstrative speech at 8am? Can I ask what community college it is? I tutor Public Speaking and they have a class at 8am and a demonstrative speech coming up shortly...
