Need a system for audio restoration

Any recommendations for parts or a company that builds pc's that are very well suited to audio restoration projects? Would a tiny itx system have enough power for this purpose? I was thinking of something that generates very little interfering noise. Thanks.
 
Any modern computer would have plenty of power, so do not worry about CPU, video card, etc. I would recommend at least one gig of RAM though.

In my experience, a decent sound card has very little issues with interfering noise. Perhaps an external sound card would be even better in this respect.
