I have a case, a dvdrom, and a lower end graphics card I can use for now. I just need it to run multimedia and occasional gaming. Under $600 if possible. Ordering in US. I prefer Intel.

Gonna go with this MB CPU combo (gonna OC a bit):
Intel Core i5-760 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core
ASUS P7P55D-E LX LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX

Thinking this memory:
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

Any suggestions on Power supply?Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power

Does that look ok to you guys? I need to make this order ASAP to get it by Thanksgiving. I am thankful for you guys helping me! :p Gobble!

The CPU + mobo combo is fine. The RAM is also fine if you're going to OC though I question the need for overclocking in your case. The PSU is also fine, but is complete overkill if you don't put a decently powerful GPU in there. You'll also need an HDD of course; something like a Samsung F3 1TB will be good.

I would wait until tomorrow. More people will post. Everyone (except me it seems) is asleep this time of night.

Nice PSU, plenty strong enough to run an i5 quad + GTX460 or 6850, and then some for overclocking!

Your build looks excellent. Grab either the ASUS 6850 or a Gigabyte, MSI or EVGA GTX 460 1GB; my preference is the GTX 460 1GB, and I am an admitted AMD whore. I wouldn't worry about $10 with RAM.

is a Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB for $170 after rebate. They're phasing out the black fan shroud for a prettier design; I'd take advantage.

As it's been said, the PSU you listed certainly isn't "bad" in absolute terms, but not a very good value for you're building. If perchance you haven't ordered yet, this would be a much more suitable PSU for your money, as it's much cheaper, more efficient, longer warranty and you'll be a larger percent of the wattage range, which is generally better for longevity.

I got the pro version of that mobo, ASUS P7P55D-E Pro.

The main two things for me was a mobo that was well known for good oc's and had SLI support.

It oc'ed like a champ and I'm sooo glad I got an SLI enabled mobo. I ended up getting two gigabyte gtx 460's when there was a combo sale. They oc'ed great too and have handled the games that I wanted to play at very high settings on 1920x1080, (crysis and metro 2033)

For a power supply I got the cosair 850W TX for $110, great PSU.

I went with the i7 875k from microcenter for $250. Oc'ed up to 4.1GHz, decided to go with 3.788GHz b/c it felt faster and the benches where about the same.

Running the gtx 460's at 850MHz. When I have more time I'll try pushing them harder but for now I have no reason to as they run everything I want excellent.

antec 300 case (love this case) and noctua nh-d14, excellent temps.
