I just got a hold of a Athlon 850 Slot A T-Bird and have been having a tough time finding a motherboard for it, I know it's not exactly new but I would like to get it running none the less. I have found the Asus K7V and Giga-Byte GA-7IXE to be the prime choices, I was wondering if anyone would know if the K7V supports T-Bird chips for sure.

Thanks for your time!

I have the Asus K7V. it supports up to 1 GHZ in SLOT A form. I use a 550, but once I get enough money I'll purchase the 1 Ghz. I know it can support it. I dont buy Gigabyte anymore. I bought 2 different motherboards and they are BOTH faulty. Well thats my experience witht hem. I have 6 Asus motherboards.

just remember that alot of the old slotA boards dont support slotA tbirds.. they only support the classic slotA

seems like boards based on the amd chipset worked best with tbirds, and the via kx133 didnt work very well with the tbird (but i could have it backward, hehe been to long ago)
