Hello gentlemen. I keep more up to speed with the latest technology, not ones from years past. My friend has a 2 year old Dell Dimension 2350 with integrated video that apparently doesn't support his new 2005FPW LCD's native 1680x1050.

Can someone recommend the best value video card between $25-50? It must be PCI as the mobo has no AGP slot. Also we highly prefer DVI to best match the LCD as well as 64-128mb memory. I know you guys will make a few suggestions, this forum rocks, TY.

The bottom end of your suggested range is not available anywhere but the surplus and overstock market. There are currently four still-considered "current production" $50 adapters. The worst is the MX 4000, but the Radeon 7000 was almost as terrible -- I may not have seen that one quite as recently. Both are worth maybe $10 compared to decent cards, no matter what the sellers hope to get (and I don't think that any of the 7000's have had a dvi port).

The difference between the 5200 and 9250 is a marginal one. Whichever you can find at an affordable price should work. Running from PCI, you probably wouldn't see any advantage for 128 MB's of RAM over 64, and probably would have to raise your budget limit to get one of those anyway.
