need a strong acne medicine

for over the counter, get something with benzoyl peroxide

avoid salicylic acid or however it is spelled

there's a clean&clear cream that is 2% benzoyl peroxide that I use, works pretty good

I've been using vitamin B5 (more commonly called pantothenic acid) for over a year now, and it's been absolutely amazing.. There's a lot of talk about it (or was when I was researching it) on internet forums, but very little anywhere else.. I take about 1500mg-2000mg a day (3-4 tabs or caps per day), and space them out throughout the day, taken with plenty of water.. runs about $10 per 100 caps at GNC.. it's not sold normally at drug stores or non-specialty stores, but you can get tablets for about $7.50/100 by special order from drug stores or hospitals.. you can also find it from internet vitamin stores.. it also takes several weeks before you see any results, and if you miss a few days you'll find a recurrence (mild) for days or even a week or so.. speaking from experience

Other options...

drink lots of water, hydration can help..

look for products with benzoyl peroxide in them, there are lots of OTC products (proactiv as recommended above uses benzoyl peroxide), but don't go crazy with it to start, or it'll make your skin red, you gotta work your skin up gradually (put it on for 20 minutes every other day for a few days, then increase slowly to two hours, and then you're pretty much good from then on)..

think about your diet.. high fat diets are bad because they increase activity in your sebaceous glands, and oil on your face (or sweating of your face from your job/activities) are bad, so if you're doing anything active, or work somewhere where you're getting oil on your face, wash your face immediately after..

the big problem with acne treatment is to keep from overdrying your skin, because that can be just as annoying or bad, and it's difficult to find that happy medium..

Hope I've helped🙂

That crap is the same stuff as you can buy OTC, just bundled together.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but benzyl peroxide is the only active ingredient (or used in 99.9% of OTC medicine) in OTC medicine. Some are 5%, and others are 10%, which is the max. you can get without prescription.

It really depends on what kind of acne you have... if you have the deep cystic type, then I would go see a dermatologist and try something like Retin-A gel, or Accutane.

but if you have acne because your hygiene isn't up to par, then that can be fixed easily.

or just get antibiotics to get it cleared up cept that'll prolly make a super mutated bacteria 🙂

it could also be your allergic response to something...

right you are (about super mutated bacteria).. at least I'm assuming you're talking about systemic antibiotics, (which, of course, are prescription only, so they wont help in this case).. overuse of antibiotics when unneccessary will greatly increase resistance and also aid in the ability of opportunistic infections to take place due to the decrease in normal flora from the antibiotic..

on a side note, benzoyl peroxide is an antibiotic..

also, something I forgot to mention before.. if your acne is primarily under the skin and large, most topical treatments probably wont help too much.. but we're talking about severe acne in this case, in which you'd want to see a dermatologist..
