Need a stable, solid performing mobo - recommendations?

After asking around for input on upgrading my video card, most people said I'd be better off replacing my motherboard/CPU instead. I use a lot of software and hardware so that kind of upgrade is pretty painful and time-consuming for me. I assume I will have to format and reinstall everything.

I have an Asus P2B-F now and it has been unbelievably solid. Took me from a Celeron 300mhz to a 1.2ghz, from 128mb RAM to 512, new hard drive, etc. I'd love to have another mobo that is as reliable and lets me still do some upgrades over time without forcing me to rebuild the works. I much prefer stable and reliable to something that's leading edge but flaky.

I read some of the reviews but I have been out of the loop for a long time. Seems like there are many more choices today than when I bought my last one. I'm having trouble beginning to narrow things down.

Any recommendations for a mobo for some Intel CPU? My case can handle 7 slots.

Abit IC7/IS7 or aany other brands with the 875/865 chipset. If you don't overclock, you might want to consider the PT880 chipset.

PSU is 300W, in a Supermicro SC-750 case.

Is it a sure thing that any mobo will fit my case? I believe it's for ATX.

Best bang for your buck would be a Athlon XP-M

If you want P4 and cheap then look at the PT880 boards

Asus P4P800 (non deluxe). Best board imho for stability and has everything you need (built-in sound/lan/sata), and nothing fancy. Has great bios options too if you ever want to overclock, and it's an Intel-based chipset.
