Need a speech topic (persuasive)...

I don't want it to be a overly talked about topic such as abortion and I want it to be current. It has to have a lot of credible newspaper articles. Sources CANNOT come from websites, the prof. doesn't think general google searched websites are credible enough. Some topics that have been talked about talked (other speakers) were:

Obesity in Children
Eating more with parents
Leaving North Korea alone

What do you think would be a great topic to discuss? Just general thoughts please. Thanks for reading. Stu
 
in my experience, the best (i.e., the ones in which the whole class didnt fall asleep during) were ones that were just really out there and funny.

Why I Should Be Supreme Dictator For Life Of The World
The U.S. Government Is Giving Aliens Citizens For Enema Experiments In Exchange For Not Being Blown Up

wait, i just reread your post, and you have to have "credible" sources. F that. you're on your own, do something boring.

Judicial Activism is a speech thats pretty easy topic where you can sound educated and not really know that much.

Well, its a persuasive speech, but that is close to an advocacy speech I'd say. I'm not sure what a three part bill is though.

Speaking of the feline population...

Encouragement of the spaying (and neutering if you want to include it) of the cat/dog population.
