WJIT THE SET-UP THE ROOM IS JUST make sence to hsve full souround so see what diriection we need to gol. The soundbar. Overpriced but are deaad simply set inall and from most accounts gets pretty soun out of it.

Nex would mu preference of individual components uBuy a nice set of mains and a goof sub with a center to to Combine that with a decent receiver and I think the out put would be much better. I can live with second hand parts if need be.

Let know any thought or recommendations

I know you can do much with out one so lets say $500 and see how it goes.

There is a sticky thread in this subforum with some starter tips.

I think you should especially check out the section on upgrade path.

With $500, you could get a reasonable HTIB set, put together a 5.1 system with budget components on your own, or you could start with a 2.0 or 2.1 system on that budget and leave the rest for a later date. Since you're willing to go used, that would be a great way to stretch your dollar. This might mean buying components over time as you find good deals.
