I dont really want to go with creative, so I was thinking one of the HT Omega cards?

possibly the striker? does that tend to get good reviews, etc

My range is in the $50-$150 range

Perhaps the bluegears is good for this. The X-Meridian, from it's description, seems mostly music only. The Bluegears has EAX level 1 & 2, A3D (unk to me) and DirectSound 3D. Both seem to have very good audio support for music and sound in general.

Mind you, this is all advertising blurb and I don't build PCs for a living (thinking about it), so take that as you will.

The X-Meridian is $169 and the bluegears is $109 from newegg.
