I know, I am living dangerously ...
I've got an Intel N440BX motherboard and two 1.2G socket P3s with socket-to-slot (Tualatin-compatible) adapters. I will be underclocking these CPUs to 900MHz since the motherboard can only handle a 100MHz bus.
Unfortunately, the retail heatsink+fans are too large when used with the socket-to-slot adapters. My unsophisticated ruler says that the retail heatsink-fan is 1.75 inches above the heat spreader. Is there anything shorter that would adequately cool these underclocked chips? Would 1U chip coolers fit?
Thanks in advance.
