i have all the other parts i need - a a64 3000, 1GB pc3200, hdd, quiet, efficient 380W psu, decent case and quiet fans.
what i need is a 939 m/b that has these features:
onboard video - vga is fine - i will be supporting a 720p lcd and will mostly play divx/xvid, the occasional h/x264 and dvd images through it
onboard sound - i would like to be able to just connect to my ht via a optical cable, so a sound setup that allows all audio to go through the optical (2ch and regular dd, dts, etc) cable is a must. i have looked at the ddl and dts connect cards but they, as far as i know convert everything to a dd or dts, i don't necessarily want this especially for mp3/flac files
size - atx or uatx, doesn't matter, the case will work w/ either
i will be swapping out any southbridge hsf to a passive unit so that is not an issue.
please help w/ this as i have not been able to find something that will work. if i need to go off board sound and video, what do you suggest that will pass the audio via the toslink cable? and for video i will just pick up something passive.
thanks in advance for the assistance,
bob
