I have a Highpoint rocket raid 404 card, I am setting up an Ubuntu Server with the GUI interface, (I suck at command line) I have the rpm, yet I would like to get the open source driver for the card and install it. I have been to the highpoint site, and it appears that the driver link is broken. I figured someone on this forum would have the drivers, or could tell me how to comple the drivers from the windows drivers, or the Red hat drivers.
 
It sounds like an iffy proposition with the bit of Googling I've done. It sounds like you'd be better off getting a true hardware controller.
