Need a Server motherboard....

Alright, here's my situation. I am going to be installing a *small* server that would accomodate approximately 10 users in a small company. Cost isn't much of a factor, but nothing ridiculous.

Here will be it's main duties:

Windows 2000 Server
PDC
File Sharing and Storage
and Exchange Server

Beyond that, maybe a few apps here and there but nothing major (i.e. QuickBooks)

I was thinking in the range of a AMD 1.4 t-bird or even XP, 60 gig IDE *RAID* 1 (just for redundancy), and beyond that, I'm not sure.

I'm not sure what would be the best MB to look into with RAID (IDE RAID is pretty much where I'm stuck cost wise)....Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Wow, you need at least 2, I tried that before for 10-15 user and exchange totally sits on my face...

PDC doesn't look like it does much but in fact it takes a lot of traffic hit

Exchange message builds up unless you warns the user to dump the old messages but sometimes important message won't get through

When I say ten users, that is a definate overstatement...Currently there are only 5 people in the office. They just want to be able to share emails, contacts, and basic info that outlook provides. The PDC part is just so I can effectively control the accounts. Plus it is a learning experience for me 🙂

Anyway, it really won't have much on it besides that exchange server, and some other apps like I said before..

Read the reviews and go with something that is stable. sometimes that means something that is not cutting edge. I would recommend a MSI with pc133 memory. However there might be some newer boards that will have good stability too. Good luck with what ever you decide to get.
