Just looking at it, I think I could get 10 drives in my Lian-Li PC70 if I used the 3.5 and some of the 5.25 bays.

Why 10 hard drives, isn't that excessive for a desktop type case? If you are building a server you need to use a server case.

I would be thinking of using an external scsi drive case, many hold 7 to 14 drives, it has it's own fans and PS, then just hook it up to external scsi ports.

Another thing to consider is a NAS server instead.

I like the Lian-Li PC-76 for your needs. Link. If I remember correctly, Monarch computer may sell it, but I don't have time to check. For a PSU I would look into the Antec Truepower 550 if you think it would be enough. If not, check into some PC Power and Cooling ones.

Are they 3.5 inch SCSI drives? If so...

Configurations: Four 5.25" and Two 3.5"visible and Six 3.5" hidden bays

That is a total of 12 bays. Minus one 5.25 for your CD-ROM, and minus one (either 3.5 or 5.25) for your floppy, that is 10.

I don't think you want to be running 10 scsi hd's that need some kind of cooling in a regular tower case. You'll want a 5.25" bay for each one, and you definitely don't want to stack them on top of each other in 3.5" bays.
