My fan is definitly going and i have no clue on what to get. I don't want to get a huge overclocker's replacement, just something around the same size as the stock one. Anyone have suggestions on what to get?

When my NB fan failed on my IC7-G, I replaced it with a Thermaltake unit, which works great. Were I to do it again I'd dispense with a fan and go with a simple heatsink (as was used on Asus' competing board).

You can probably just unplug the fan and be fine, have you tried that?

I always replace northbridge fans with zalman heatsinks. It will cool just fine if you have good airflow throught the case. Just make sure it fits. They usually do but sometimes caps or some other components are very close and crowd the northbridge.

When I went through this on my board someone suggested the same thing. I bet it would work, too. The fan seems like OC'er bling more than anything really required. YMMV, etc.

I actually did this and my IS7 was completely stable at 220FSB with the fan unplugged.
