Need a recommendation

Hello there,

I'm upgrading from an Asus A7n8x and am looking for a recommendation. I will be upgrading the CPU at the same time so all mobo's are fair game. I typically use AMD's, but am open to an Intel based board.

Other specs on system:
9800 Pro 256
1.5 GB RAM
80 GB HD

Basically, it's my gaming system. Let me know what you guys think it's the good stuff right now for gaming that isn't a million dollars.

Newegg has a soyo 865pe board free after rebate ($80 shipped before rebate). The rebate is good until Sept 26, for newegg customers only. Use it with a 2.8c retail boxed. Mine overclocks to 3.64 on an msi board at 1.55 volts. You can also get an athlon 64 3000 for about $170 retail boxed, and chaintech nforce 3 board for about $75. Some people are hitting 2500 with them and the stock amd heatsink. Either combo will work fine.

If you need it right away, MSI nForce3 Neo Platinum. If you can wait a few weeks, try the DFI LanParty UT because it's an overclocking monster. You can tweak just about anything you want with this board, but it's going to start shipping in limited quantities starting Sept. 9.
