I would say anything below 16ms would be plenty. If all she does is word and internet (no movies, games, etc.) 25 ms would probably suffice.

Anyways, the 710N is agreat monitor. 12ms, decent color, and pretty cheap. No DVI, but tht really isn't necessary for her uses (I doubt her card even has a DVI port unless it is way overkill). I bet you could skimp a little more, though that samsing definately will please. I was planning on getting one for my rig, but I decided to wait for a good sale on the dell 1905FP...

Samsung, MAG, Sony, Dell.... just pick the cheapest with the best color contrast. I think thats all you need to look. She wont notice the difference i bet regarding any other aspects of it. 25ms IS GREAT for that purpose.

I like the Sammy 715b

I even like the ViewSonic VX710

Both monitors have DVI/VGA, both at a good price point..

Around $300

Thanks to all that replied here, I just got an email from my sister-in-law.. Yesterday, the best I could find was the 710N for $215 shipped. Today its upto $220 shipped(newegg). She already ordered it. I really hope she likes it or I am screwed.

And I did suggest it as the best from what you all suggested.
