I see all sorts of the ones that do it "instant" or "wirelessly". I've got the phone here and need to unlock it asap. Has anyone used one of these sites or can anyone recommend one?

TIA!

howardforums?

I would like to know as well, as I have a phone that I would like to change carriers on (the phone is mine). It's one of those STI prepaid free after rebate phones.

Don't know if helps, but I unlocked a t-mobile phone by calling them and getting a code. Then you insert a SIM card from a different carrier and enter the code. I would imagine it would be pretty hard to get the needed code for a prepaid phone though.

Howardforums and just google searches. Do you have any way to connect your phone to your PC?!?

And I've read conflicting reports about this, but ymmv: Cingular and T-Mobile will give you the unlock code if you are a customer in good standing for three months.

Yeah, I've read that too. But from what I understand, I would need to be a Cingular client to get an unlock code for a Cingular-locked phone. I'm a T-mobile customer. Correct if I'm wrong in that regard though, as I could just as easily go down to the T-mobile store and ask them.
