I've taken a lot of flack for the current design of our website (http://depts.washington.edu/biostat/), and am looking to switch designs. Anyone have advice for a good place to go to get a new site design? I've been looking to go the route of templates, because while I can design decent and simple tech projects, I'm not up to stuff like this:
http://www.biostat.jhsph.edu/biostat/event/events.shtml
...which is, unfortunately, what many of our staff/faculty would like. While I'd love to be able to do that, I can't. Anyway, I would love some recommendations for good template-based sites, if anyone knows of them. Our department can't/won't shell out a grand for a custom site design, so this is what I'm left with for now.
I've tried 4templtates.com and templatemonster.com; any other recommendations? The prices there aren't bad, and the designs are nice, but can be a bit too specific to industries (i.e. images of doctors, etc.).
