Need a recommendation for a gaming laptop in the $1000-1200 range

Hi,

I plan to game on my laptop and also use it for day-to-day tasks. I mostly play single player games like Fallout 4 and Elden Ring, along with Minecraft. I need the laptop to be small and portable above all else, with gaming performance as a secondary concern because I already have a capable gaming PC. My limit for size is about a 15 inch screen. I also need it to play well with Linux (probably going be using Arch), and as long as it does that, I have no brand preferences.

I also saw this laptop (a Lenovo Legion Slim OLED) for $1000. Would this suit my needs?

P.S. I live near a Microcenter and I can go there if necessary.

It looks good...but

Screen Size

14.5 inches
Screen Resolution

2880 x 1800

There's no way a 4060 mobile (which is really a 4050) is going to drive a 1800 base mono. That's such a weird resolution too.

No. And holy hell 180W for a LAPTOP CHIP!!! INTEL!!!!!!

GPU wise though yeah it'd do the job decently enough. Your components are good on your original pick, it's the resolution that's too large, everything else, Ryzen, RAM, GPU, SSD, it's all quite good. Even the brand. Frankly the res is weird, it could be that they've put in false specs because it makes 0 sense to have a 1800 base for a 14 inch.
I guess you could just take it and run your games at 1440x900p, but Windows has this annoying habit of making switching resolution for one app annoying. Linux does the job well...
