So my old tube tv is starting to have issues not to mention the picture is just horrible. So I think its time to upgrade to something new/better for watching movies and playing the PS3.

My budget is right around $350 and need something that's 32" it will most often be used for gaming via the playstation so input lag is a large concern... I've been looking at some Panasonic models but haven't gotten to see them first hand.

So any suggestions of solid choices at this proice range and size I should be looking at?
Thanks

At CostCo, right now, there's a Panasonic for $319 and a Vizio that is probably a bit better performer but not as attractive for $294. Neither is LED, but coming from a bad CRT, you will be happy with either. You may also want to consider a 42" plasma for just a bit more.

Id actually seriously been considering a 42" Panasonic plasma they have at Costco but wasn't able to find out much info on it. Seemed like it was a sort of Costco exclusive model...?

I had considered looking on CraigsList but I am worried about buying someone headache and generally just getting ripped off. I have emailed a few people about new in box super deals that I can only assume were obtained in less than legitimate ways but to be completely honest id prefer buying from a b&m store. Costco for its awesome return policy.

There's several places to pick up 42" Samsung or Panasonic plasma televisions for under $450. Any of them will have a better picture than any LCD in that price range, 1080p or not. The manufacturers don't go to great lengths to reduce it on the low end plasmas, but if glare is not going to be an issue then it should be a no brainer.

Costco doubles your warranty, too.

Went to Costco last week to pick up that 42" panasonic
ended up walking out with the 40" Toshiba

Maybe it was just the floor model they had but the panasonic was washed out and not anywhere near as sharp as the Toshiba

You can't compare side by side in a store. That's the worst place to evaluate a tv. All someone has to do is turn up the brightness and it'll catch your eye.

FWIW I came to the same conclusion, at least my wife preferred the toshiba, I wanted a 32" but she thought it was too small. I agreed on the toshiba, which may be an inferior LCD television, because the glossy screen on the plasma would have driven me batty, too many little fingers in my house leaving little finger prints.
