My problem is:

Someone installed a dodgy copy of XPSP2 pro on my pc and I've just realised this. I have a genuine product key but I don't know how to substitute it in and now I can't install wmp11 or flight simulater 2007.

I been searching the microsoft KB but I can't find the answer.

Help! (thanks for listening) :)

I know that there is a place in the registry where the key is stored, you may want to search for that either in the registry or on google.

See, this is why WGA is a little silly, because most people that pirate XP will do so with a copy that has a clean key (like a Volume License Key). So instead they are hurting those that thought that they were being clean, but got screwed, so now they are screwed twice.

If your genuine product key is XP Pro OEM you should use the official MS product key update tool. Otherwise you can perform a repair install using the OEM XP Pro disc and your legit OEM Pro key.
